Erin Gough is a principal policy analyst at the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), focusing on disability policy, including the development of upcoming accessibility legislation and the establishment of the Ministry for Disabled People. Previously, Erin served as the lead advisor on rights at the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, where leadership was provided for the child rights work program. Experience also includes roles at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand as a policy analyst, concentrating on marginalized students' wellbeing, and as a human rights specialist with the New Zealand Human Rights Commission. Erin has provided legal services as an access to justice advisor at Community Law Canterbury, focusing on disability, and facilitated educational programs on human rights and disability awareness with CCS Disability Action. Academia included a position as a law tutor at the University of Canterbury while holding a Bachelor's Degree in Law and Sociology from the same institution.
