Susan Camara has extensive work experience in the field of advocacy and program management. Susan began their career in 2005 with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), where they worked as a Press Officer and later as a Regional Information Officer until 2010. During this time, they focused on gathering complex medical data, interviewing key informants, and publishing evidence-based reports on various medical and humanitarian needs.

After their tenure at MSF, Susan joined Oxfam in 2011, where they served as an Advocacy and Communications Coordinator and later as the Regional Policy and Advocacy Lead. In these roles, they worked on crisis situations and developed strategies to address food security in the Horn of Africa.

Susan continued their advocacy work in 2012 with MSF, this time as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer. Here, they managed advocacy and communications efforts, engaged in high-level meetings, and strengthened relationships with organizations and policy specialists. Susan also authored a report titled "Violence, Vulnerability and Migration: Trapped at the Gates of Europe," which focused on the healthcare obstacles faced by undocumented migrants in Morocco.

Susan's advocacy work extended to Action Against Hunger | ACF-UK in 2013, where they served as the West Africa Regional Advocacy Advisor. Following this, they joined MSI Reproductive Choices in 2014, assuming multiple roles, including Regional Advocacy Advisor, Senior Programme Manager, and currently as Head of Youth for Health. Throughout their tenure at MSI, they have been dedicated to promoting reproductive health and empowering youth.
