Chris Barry

Chris Barry is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in creative communications and production. Currently serving as Senior Director and Executive Producer for Yellow Tag Productions at Best Buy since July 2000, Chris manages internal and external communications for various stakeholders. In addition, Chris holds positions on the boards of the MSP Film Society and Minneapolis College of Art and Design, contributing to the appreciation of film and advancement of arts education. Chris also has a history of independent production through Chris Barry Productions, focusing on social and political causes, and has held leadership roles in several industry organizations, including past president of the Communications Media Management Association and former governance chair for FilmNorth. Chris's early career includes roles at Edelman Productions, Compass Media, and Media Loft, where significant expertise in video production was developed. Educational credentials include a BA in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and studies at the University of Warwick in Film History and Theory.

The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul is Minnesota’s leading exhibitor of international independent cinema.
