Deborah Girdwood is a mental health therapist currently working at Community First Therapy and Consulting, LLC since September 2023, where a strength-based and person-centered approach is utilized in virtual therapy for individuals and couples under LICSW supervision. Previous experience includes serving as a Master of Social Work Intern at Community First, providing evidence-based therapy, and a long-standing role as Moving Image Program Manager at the Walker Art Center, managing diverse Moving Image programs. Additionally, Deborah has extensive experience in programming and inclusion initiatives, having worked as the Lead Programmer for Nextwave Youth Programs at MSP Film Society, and as Director of Access and Inclusion at Children's Theatre Company, where significant DEI efforts were implemented. Early career involvement includes establishing children's film programs and co-founding the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle. Deborah is currently a Master of Social Work candidate at Simmons University, building on a foundation in English Literature from the University of Vermont.

The 36th Annual Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival will take place April 13-29, 2017.
