Hesham Safwat

Hesham Safwat currently serves as the Group General Manager at MTN Group, focusing on the expansion of the Fintech and E-Commerce sectors across various markets since May 2023. Prior to this role, Safwat was the CEO and Chief Commercial Officer at Jumia Egypt from March 2013 to March 2023. Additional experience includes serving as a Group Retail Operations Consultant for CompuMe LLC/Virgin in Dubai for a brief period in 2013, and holding multiple positions at CompuMe from 2001 to 2012, including Chief Operating Officer, Retail Director, Retail Sales & Merchandising Manager, and IT & Corporate Technical Support Manager. Hesham Safwat holds a Master’s degree in Business Information Technology from Middlesex University and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Ain Shams University, along with completion of a Project Management Program course from the French University in Cairo and RS Management Consulting House in 2007.
