Ir Prof. Lawrence Poon

Ir Prof. Lawrence Poon currently serves as the Chief Innovation Manager and Head of Emerging Technology at MTR Corporation Limited since February 2024. In addition, Poon holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at both The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and City University of Hong Kong, focusing on technological innovation and collaboration with government and industry. As Chairman of SAE International's Hong Kong section and a former CEO Advisor at 應科院, Poon has extensive experience in leading innovative technology development in smart city solutions. Poon has significant contributions to the Hong Kong Productivity Council, where roles included General Manager of the Smart City Division and advisory positions involving electronics and telecommunications training. Poon's academic credentials include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
