Kirsti Arko

Kirsti Arko, PhD, serves as the Associate Director of Admissions at Michigan Technological University, a role held since January 2010 that focuses on transfer students from Northern Wisconsin and the Michigan Upper Peninsula. Throughout her tenure, Kirsti has held multiple positions, including Associate Director of Institutional Equity and Director of Title IX, where responsibilities included the oversight and management of career education programs and student support initiatives. Kirsti has contributed to student and alumni career development, advised on Title IX policies, and created impactful presentations for diverse audiences. Prior experience includes significant roles at Finlandia University, where Kirsti directed academic support programs and supervised residence life, as well as teaching positions in higher education. Kirsti holds a PhD in Rhetoric, Theory, and Culture from Michigan Technological University, along with a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Technical Communication and Liberal Arts - English Education, respectively.
