Veera Nikkanen

Veera Nikkanen is an experienced journalist currently working at MTV Oy since June 2022. Previous roles include serving as a Helsingin Sanomat Foundation Fellow at the International Press Institute from January to May 2022, and working as a journalist at Itä-Savo Newspaper during the summer of 2021. Veera has also held positions as a communications intern at the City of Espoo, a project coordinator, and a tourist information supervisor at Suomenlinnan hoitokunta, and worked in various roles, including currency exchange official at Forex Bank AB. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and two Master's degrees, one from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in Multimedia Journalism and Media Management, and another in Russian language and culture from the University of Tampere.
