Zubin Dowlaty

Zubin Dowlaty is the VP, Head of Innovation & Development Labs at Mu Sigma. Zubin has over 20 years of experience in statistical modeling and machine learning.

Dowlaty started their career at UPS in 1994, where they quickly rose to the position of Manager of Statistical Modeling. In this role, they leveraged UPS's vast data assets to deliver incremental revenue and cost savings into the business. Zubin also consulted internally on applied statistical methods within the UPS network and built and deployed an online portal to disseminate reporting and analysis to all US field staff.

In 2000, Dowlaty left UPS to join the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as Vice President of Emerging Technologies. In this role, they were responsible for leading a newly formed R&D group that leveraged consumer insights and machine learning to drive operational technology innovation at IHG. Zubin was also tasked with implementing the "Innovation Factory" - a process for harvesting ideas, prioritizing them, rapid prototyping them, and testing them in the market. Under Dowlaty's leadership, the Innovation Factory was recognized in the NY Times for its effectiveness.

In their current role as VP, Head of Innovation & Development Labs at Mu Sigma, Dowlaty is responsible for leading a team of data scientists and engineers who develop innovative solutions to complex business problems. Zubin continues to be recognized as a thought leader in the field of data science and machine learning, and is passionate about helping organizations harness the power of data to drive transformation and growth.

Zubin Dowlaty attended the PhD MIS Program at the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business. Their MA is in Economics from the Darla Moore School of Business, specializing in econometrics. Their BSBA is in finance from the University of Florida.
