The mission of Muddy Sneakers is to awaken in children a deeply felt connection with the natural world -- one that inspires curiosity, stimulates learning and brings new life to classroom performance. Muddy Sneakers partners with public schools to take 5th-grade students to natural areas near their schools, to work in small groups in the outdoors with trained naturalist educators to teach their science curriculum and help students connect to nature.

The Education and Training team at Muddy Sneakers is responsible for delivering outdoor educational experiences to 5th-grade students by working with public schools. This team of Field and Core Instructors conducts hands-on science curriculum in natural environments, guiding students in small groups to foster a deep connection with nature, stimulate learning, and enhance classroom performance.
