Theo Botes has a diverse and extensive work experience. Theo began their career as a Restaurant Manager at Coffee at Burgundy's while still a student. Theo then worked as an HR Superintendent at Blyvooruitzicht Gold Mining Company, progressing to HR Officer and ultimately filling two superintendent roles. After that, they served as an HR, Training & Development Manager at Train the Nation, overseeing the HR function and providing consultation on HR and labor-related matters.

Theo then joined Manhattan Corporation as an HR Manager, responsible for managing the complete HR function in an open-cast mining and engineering environment. Theo later became the Manager of HR and Logistics with additional responsibilities.

Theo then served as the Group Human Resources Manager at Vereeniging Refractories, directing the full HR function for the company and managing employee relations.

Theo's career continued at General Cable, where they held various roles, including Head of HR Africa, Executive Director on the Board of Directors, and Acting Managing Director. Theo was responsible for leading HR business partner teams throughout Africa, providing strategic and functional leadership, and optimizing HR operational delivery and compliance in the region.

Theo then became the Group Head of Human Resources at Karan Beef, overseeing the HR function for the company.

Currently, Theo is working at MCC Label as the Snr Director Human Resources, Africa and Asia, where they are responsible for enabling managers to get the best out of their teams, leading initiatives to attract, develop, and reward talent, and building engagement and embedding change within the organization.

Theo Botes has a diverse education history. In 2022, they completed a BBBEE Management Development Programme at Wits Business School, focusing on BBBEE Management and Implementation. From 2021 to 2022, they pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management at North-West University, achieving Distinction. In 2019, they attended the MCC Leadership Development Programme at Development Dimensions International (DDI) in the USA, specializing in Organizational Leadership. In 2016 and 2017, they obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Human Resources Management and Services from the Central University of Technology, Free State. Additionally, in 2012, they completed an Advanced Certificate in Labour Relations at North-West University. Theo Botes obtained their Senior Certificate/Matric from Barberton High School in 1997. Theo has also obtained additional certifications in Debriefing & Coaching Accreditation and Employee Development Accreditation from Harrison Assessments Int'l in 2020.
