Christopher Williams

VP Business Development/alliance Management at Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation - MMRF

Christopher Williams has a diverse work experience in the field of business development and alliance management. Christopher started their career at Schering-Plough Research Institute as a Scientist, where they worked on protein expression and purification for drug development projects. Christopher then moved to Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, where they designed and validated high throughput assays for drug discovery in oncology. Christopher also introduced surface plasmon resonance biosensors for target validation and assay development.

In 1996, Christopher joined Millennium Pharmaceuticals as a Scientist II, where they developed and implemented new technologies in protein/protein interactions and proteomics. Christopher played a key role in the development of novel assays and interfaces for biosensor surfaces, allowing for the discovery of potential novel ligands in a short period of time. Christopher also prepared project proposals and contributed to the assessment of new technologies for molecular target validation.

Christopher then worked at Epitome Biosystems and PerkinElmer LAS as a Senior Scientist, where they continued their work in applications support for functional genomic/proteomic products. Christopher published application notes and played a role in product improvements.

At PerkinElmer, Christopher held two roles. As a Product Specialist, they provided technical and sales support for molecular diagnostics products, specifically in Array Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH). Christopher also authored and published application notes in various areas. Later, as a Market Segment Leader, they established the Oncology Market Strategy within the Diagnostics Division and drove business development by setting goals and launching new products.

After PerkinElmer, Christopher joined SkylineDx BV as a VP of Business Development, where they led the US commercialization strategy for the Oncology Product portfolio. Christopher initiated partnerships with academic and pharmaceutical laboratories and oversaw the implementation of products and services in CLIA laboratories.

Their most recent role is as a VP of Business Development/Alliance Management at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). Christopher directs business relationships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and technology partners, negotiates contracts, and oversees the development of a patient-facing registry.

Overall, Christopher Williams has a strong background in business development and alliance management in the life sciences industry, with a focus on oncology and molecular diagnostics. Christopher has extensive experience in product support, market analysis, strategic partnerships, and commercialization.

Christopher Williams earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology/Molecular Biology from Clemson University between 1983 and 1987. Christopher then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biochemistry at Clemson University from 1987 to 1990.
