María Fernández Cachafeiro

María Fernández Cachafeiro is an accomplished sustainability professional with extensive experience in the construction industry. Currently serving as Head of Sustainability at Multiplex since May 2014, María has been instrumental in developing sustainability strategies aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and implementing an Environmental Management System certified to ISO 14001:2015. Key achievements include launching the first Sustainability Report for Multiplex Canada, spearheading commitments to the Science Based Target initiative, and supporting projects in meeting LEED requirements. Prior roles include sustainability consulting at MLM Consulting Engineers and research at the Worldwatch Institute, with a solid educational background in sustainable building technology and management.
