Marisa Vanheusden

Innovation scientist at Muna Therapeutics

Marisa Vanheusden has a diverse work experience. Marisa started working as a Hostess at Hostgroep KU Leuven from September 2015 to September 2017. In February 2017, they worked as a Stagiair at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique until July 2017. Marisa then joined KU Leuven as an FWO research fellow in January 2018 and remained there until December 2021. During their time at KU Leuven, they successfully implemented a new microscopy technique and facilitated interdisciplinary collaborations. Starting from January 2022, Marisa became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at VIB, where they coordinated the image analysis part of a spatial transcriptomics study on Alzheimer's disease. Marisa also worked on various related projects and explored emerging technologies for future AD research. Additionally, they currently hold the position of an Innovation Scientist at Muna Therapeutics, starting from January 2022.

Marisa Vanheusden obtained their Masters degree in Molecular Biochemistry from KU Leuven, where they studied from 2012 to 2017.
