Safwan Malasalih is an experienced independent consultant specializing in translation, interpretation, proofreading, and bilingual transcription since June 2020. Currently serving as an adjunct English Language professor with Muncie Community Schools, Safwan previously held the position of ESL instructor and research fellow at Ball State University from December 2014 to May 2020. Safwan's academic background includes a Ph.D. (ABD) in Linguistics and Translation Studies, a Master's degree in Language Interpretation and Translation, and a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Interpretation and Translation, all from the University of Mosul. Furthermore, Safwan has contributed to education as a university lecturer at the University of Mosul and has held roles within the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals and RTI International as a senior translator and project manager, respectively.

Muncie Community Schools (MCS) has delivered education and shaped the Muncie community since 1855. With 350 teachers at nine schools – six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school – MCS annually educates approximately 5,000 students and manages other educational facilities benefitting children and adults throughout East Central Indiana.
