Chris Schmid

Chris Schmid has extensive experience in the marine underwriting sector, currently serving as a Senior Underwriter Marine at Munich Re since April 2019, focusing on Lloyd’s, Global Clients, Offshore Energy, and P&I. Prior to this role, Chris held positions at New Reinsurance Company Ltd. from July 2013 to March 2019, including Underwriter Associate and Technical Accountant, with expertise in retrocession and reinsurance business as well as claims handling. Chris's career at Munich Re began in September 2009, starting as a Trainee and later becoming a Technical Accountant, further solidifying a strong foundation in the reinsurance industry.
