Steffen Hoerter

Steffen Hoerter is an accomplished executive with over 20 years of experience in the finance and investment sector, specializing in sustainable investing for the past 12 years. Currently serving as an Executive Board Member at Munich Re, Steffen oversees Climate Investment Strategies, Product Management, Investment Research, and Sales. As a member of the Munich Re ESG Investment Committee, Steffen contributes to the development of the company's ESG investment policy. Additionally, Steffen heads ESG at Munich Re Investment Partners and supports TreeTrust's Investor Board, focusing on afforestation projects. Previous roles include membership in the SASB Investment Advisory Group and serving as the Global Head of ESG Integration & Solutions at Allianz Global Investors. Steffen also contributed to the EU's sustainable finance taxonomy as a member of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Value Based Bank-Controlling from Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and an ERASMUS scholarship in Finance from The University of Edinburgh.
