Jason Dejong

Jason deJong is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as Deputy Fire Chief at the Municipality of North Cowichan since April 2021. Previously, Jason held the position of Fire Chief at North Oyster Fire Department for over two decades and worked as Fire Rescue Services Coordinator at Cowichan Valley Regional District. In addition, Jason serves as a Strike Team/Task Force Leader/Division Supervisor for the Office of the Fire Commissioner of BC. Jason's educational background includes degrees in Business Management with a focus on Finance and Forestry from Vancouver Island University, complemented by a high school diploma from Ladysmith Secondary. Jason is recognized as an ECFO and holds the designation of GIFireE.
