Jamie Kearns

Jamie Kearns has a diverse work experience in the medical field. They started their career as a Medical Intern at St. Vincent's Hospital in 2006. From 2010 to 2014, they worked as a GP Trainee at HSE. In 2014, they became a GP, working as a locum and later joined Seapoint Medical Centre as a GP until 2019. In 2014 and 2015, they also served as a Team Doctor for the Irish Women's Senior Team. In 2016, they worked as the Team Doctor for Connacht Rugby, as well as for the Irish U19 team. Since 2018, Jamie has held the position of Head of Sports Medicine at Munster Rugby. They recently joined the Health Service Executive in 2021 as a Specialist Registrar in Sports & Exercise Medicine.

Jamie Kearns has an extensive education history in the field of medicine and related studies. In 2000, they attended the University College Dublin, where they completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in Medicine, which lasted from 2000 to 2006. Following this, from 2007 to 2010, Jamie attended The Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, where they obtained a degree in Medicine (MRCPI).

In 2010, Jamie pursued further specialization by enrolling in the University of Galway, completing a Masters of Sports Medicine degree in Sports and Exercise, which lasted from 2010 to 2012. The next milestone in their education came in 2009, when they attended the Irish College of General Practitioners, completing a degree in General Practice (MICGP) from 2009 to 2014.

Most recently, Jamie Kearns attended AECC University College from 2020 to 2022, where they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Jamie also holds a certification in SAFE Rugby Level 3 from the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU). The specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
