Stéphan La Roche has a diverse work experience in the arts and cultural sector. From 2015 to present, they have served as the President and CEO of Musée de la civilisation. Prior to that, they were the President and CEO of Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) from 2008 to 2015, where they oversaw the organization's activities and implemented various initiatives to support and promote the arts in Quebec. Stéphan also worked as the Director General of Société du Palais Montcalm from 2005 to 2008, where they played a key role in developing and promoting the venue as a major cultural center for music. Additionally, they served as the Director of the Cultural Service of Délégation générale du Québec à Paris from 2001 to 2004, where they planned and coordinated cultural services in France to promote Quebec culture. Stéphan started their career at SODEC as the Director General of the Capital-National Office, where they were responsible for overseeing the organization's activities and promoting cultural industries in the Quebec region.
Stéphan La Roche began their education journey at the Petit Séminaire de Québec, where they completed their Études collégiales et Études secondaires in the field of Étude des sciences humaines. This period of their education lasted from 1979 to 1986. Following this, Stéphan attended Université Laval, where they pursued a Baccalauréat in Droit. This degree program took place from 1986 to 1989. To further their education and professional development in the field of law, Stéphan enrolled at École du Barreau du Québec, where they completed a Formation professionnelle in Droit in the year 1990.
