Fernando Isai has a diverse work experience, starting in 2006 as a Darkroom Attendant at Bard College. fernando also worked as a Darkroom Attendant at Santa Monica College from 2008 to 2010. In 2007, they served as a Teaching Assistant at UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. From 2009 to 2010, they were an Unpaid Intern at Los Angeles Center of Photography. In 2015, they worked as a Server at MAMA SHELTER until 2017. In the same year, they joined Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as a Teaching Artist. In 2016, they became a Bicycle Courier at Maritime Bicycle Couriers. From 2015, they also worked as a Consulting Artist at Fernando Isai. In 2019, they started working as an Arts Research and Gallery Guide, promoting artists of color and hosting free crafting events in public spaces through their initiative, ArtsFarts.
Fernando Isai attended Bard College from 2006 to 2008, where they studied photography. fernando then enrolled at Santa Monica College from 2011 to 2015, completing an Associate's degree in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation.
