Julia Han

Julia Han has a diverse work experience starting from 2009. Julia worked as a Library Intern at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where they created and edited bibliographic records, digitized and indexed the ephemera collection, and performed liaison work between satellite libraries on campus.

In 2010, they served as a Curatorial Assistant-Intern at the Hanhyanglim Ceramic Museum in South Korea. Their responsibilities included art handling, transport, and layout assistance for gallery installations, translating Korean-language content into English, and leading English-language gallery tours.

From 2011 to 2014, Julia worked at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as a Stacks Manager. Their duties included technical services such as Korean language cataloging, bibliographic record control, archival processing, library processing, and stacks maintenance. Julia also conducted outreach activities through social media posts and coordinated annual book sales. Julia provided in-person and remote reference services to staff and patrons.

In 2014, they had internships at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Center for the Study of Political Graphics. At the Whitney Museum, Julia worked as a Library & Archives Metadata Intern, where they cataloged museum publications and ephemera according to professional standards. Julia also created MARC cataloging templates for multimedia resources and performed archival description work. At the Center for the Study of Political Graphics, their role was as an Archives Processing Intern.

At the Getty Research Institute in 2015, Julia served as an Archives Processing Intern. Julia processed, rehoused, and described the Lothar Lang Collection of East German Ephemera following professional standards. Julia also created a collection finding aid for online publication.

Returning to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2016, they took on the role of Librarian & Archivist at the Balch Art Research Library. For this position, specific start and end dates were not provided.

Most recently, in 2021 and 2022, Julia worked as a Catalog Contributor/Translator in the Korean Art Department of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Julia Han obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Art History from the University of California, Riverside, from the years 2004 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued a Library Technology certificate from Pasadena City College, taking credit courses in German, French, and Studio Art between 2009 and 2011. Later, Julia furthered their education by earning a Master of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degree from UCLA, attending from 2013 to 2015.
