Nicole Powell is an experienced Animal Care Specialist and Educator with a strong background in animal husbandry, conservation education, and guest engagement. Currently working at the Museum of Life and Science and the Greensboro Science Center, Nicole manages daily care routines for various species, leads educational programs, and creates engaging activities for visitors. Previous roles include positions at notable facilities such as the Wilds, Memphis Zoo and Aquarium, and St. Louis Zoo, where Nicole developed skills in diet preparation, enrichment protocols, and animal interactions. Nicole holds a Master of Arts in Biology from Miami University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Emory & Henry University, underscoring a solid academic foundation in the field.

Museum of Life and Science
The Museum of Life and Science is one of North Carolina’s top attractions. Situated on 84-acres, our interactive science park includes a science center, a butterfly conservatory which is one of the largest in the world and beautifully-landscaped outdoor exhibits which are safe havens for rescued black bears, lemurs, and endangered red wolves. Our mission is to create a place of lifelong learning where people, from young child to senior citizen, embrace science as a way of knowing about themselves, their community, and their world.
