Claudia Orange is a seasoned researcher and leader in the museum sector, currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa since November 2014. In this role, Claudia Orange has contributed to the development of research for the new museum at Waitangi and the Claudia Tohu exhibition for the National Library Wellington, while also revising historical works related to the Treaty of Waitangi. Previously, Claudia held the position of Head of Research, overseeing diverse research projects and enhancing institutional partnerships. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Collections & Research at Te Papa, where responsibilities encompassed the stewardship and development of museum collections. Claudia Orange also acted as the General Editor for the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography at the Ministry for Culture & Heritage, managing a significant research initiative. Claudia holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History and Race Relations from The University of Auckland, earned between 1969 and 1985.
