Sarah Staniforth is President of IIC (International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works) until January 2019.
She is currently a Trustee of English Heritage, the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons, the Pilgrim Trust and the Landmark Trust, and a member of the Heritage Lottery Fund South West Committee, the Westminster Abbey Fabric Commission and the Gloucester Diocesan Advisory Committee.
Sarah is also a Director of the Historic House Hotels of the National Trust. She is a Fellow of IIC, the Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Society of Arts.
Sarah held a number of roles at the National Trust between 1985 and 2014 including Museums and Collections Director, Historic Properties Director and Head Conservator. Before that she worked in the Scientific Department of the National Gallery for five years.
Sarah was educated at Oxford University where she read Chemistry, and the Courtauld Institute of Art, London where she received a Diploma in Easel Paintings Conservation.
