Brian Hyland

Brian Hyland serves as the Senior Curator at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, where responsibilities include curating manuscripts, managing curator workflow, and reporting to the Director of Collections. Prior to this role, Brian held the position of Associate Curator of Manuscripts, specializing in Latin and Greek manuscripts. An accomplished Irish musician since 1974, Brian performs traditional songs and dances on various instruments and provides vocals. With a strong background in education, Brian taught multiple history and Latin courses and served as the Head Coach for both Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track & Field at Seton Catholic Central from 1985 to 2016, where Brian was also the department chair for Social Studies. Brian's academic credentials include an MA in Ancient History from the University of Chicago and a BA in History from the University of Maryland.
