Michael Frawley

Chief Executive & Museum Director at Museum of Transport & Technology

Chief Executive/Museum Director, Michael Frawley, is responsible for leading and developing MOTAT in line with its Vision, Values and Strategy and the objectives outlined in the MOTAT Act. In particular he is responsible for the Museum’s culture, the MOTAT Team (both employees and volunteers), the achievement of its strategic and statutory objectives (as determined by the Board) and the development of its external partnerships and relationships.

Michael, who started at MOTAT in February 2013, is of Ngāti Maniapoto and Ngāpuhi descent and is the former managing partner of the European Law firm Taylor Wessing. Michael has extensive strategic, restructuring and cultural change experience gained in Europe, the United States and New Zealand and he is a strong advocate of using past, present and future Kiwi technology, innovation and ingenuity to inspire the next generation and build the mana of New Zealand.
