indy Powell formed CPowell Resources, LLC, in 2020 to assist school districts with development of facilities master plans, bond programs and financial planning. She brings to her consulting role more than 35 years of experience in finance, accounting and auditing roles concentrated in school finance and bond programs.
Her chief priority is to responsibly increase opportunities for students to learn in relevant, properly resourced environments that contribute to their post‐graduation ambitions. Cindy retired from Arlington Independent School District (AISD), after serving the district for twenty‐seven years, including time as Internal Auditor, Director of Accounting, Executive Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. During her tenure, she was responsible for annual operating budgets exceeding $535 million––as well as managing financial, plant services and food services. A Center for Visual and Performing Arts, a junior high fine arts academy and two elementary fine arts‐dual language academies were constructed through bond programs in which she had a leading role.
Cindy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University with a major in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. Her passion for visual and performing arts is rooted in her high school band experiences, including one season in the Texas Tech Goin’ Band from Raiderland. Today she enjoys theater productions, art museums, travel, college football and time with family. Cindy and her husband, Steve, reside in Arlington, Texas.
