David Klein

David Klein is a seasoned musician and educator with extensive experience in performance and teaching. As the band leader of Heartland Klezmorim since June 2006, David has led performances across Michigan and Indiana, including notable events such as The Great Lakes Folk Festival and the East Lansing Art Festival. In addition to teaching music since July 1997, David has been self-employed as a trumpet player since August 1979, with expertise in jazz, klezmer, show bands, and orchestral music. From April 2009 to March 2015, David served as the music director for the Lil Darlins Vaudeville Show, responsible for arranging music and conducting the pit band. David holds a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from the University of Connecticut.
