Academic Operations Director at Summer Discovery

Rachel Lovis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Program Assistant at the International Labor Rights Forum. In 2009, they were a Development Assistant at National Peoples Action. From 2010 to 2017, Rachel worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and later as a Graduate Student Instructor. In 2016, they became an Instructor of Sociology at North Central College. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as a Testing Coordinator at the Disability Resource Center, University of Illinois. Rachel then joined SAGE Publishing in 2018 as a Digital Assessment and Test Bank Writer. In 2020, they worked as a Grant Developer and Research Consultant at the National Student Leadership Conference. In 2021, they were an Inside Sales Associate at Summer Discovery before being promoted to Director of Academics and then Academic Operations Director, a position that they currently hold at the company.

Rachel Lovis completed their education at the University of Illinois Chicago and the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Rachel obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology from the University of Illinois Chicago from 2013 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Sociology from the same university from 2010 to 2013. Rachel also holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, where they studied Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Spanish from 2001 to 2005.
