Joe Thommen

Joe Thommen possesses extensive experience in engineering and education. Currently serving as an Instructor at Muskegon Area ISD since September 2023, Joe has held various engineering roles at Howmet Aerospace since October 2019, including Manufacturing Engineer, Automation Engineer, and Tooling Design Engineer, focusing on the design of fixtures and tooling for wax and core injection. Prior experience includes a position as a Junior Engineer at Arconic from October 2017 to October 2021, where Joe specialized in prototype tooling and fixtures. Earlier roles include Development Technician and Grain Technician at Alcoa Howmet Castings (March 2011 - October 2017) and Owner/Carpenter at Lake View Design (January 2005 - January 2017), where Joe managed the design and construction of residential buildings. Educated at Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Technology and Management (2017 - 2019) and Muskegon Community College with an Associate's degree in CAD/CADD (2011 - 2015), Joe has developed a strong foundation in technology and engineering.
