Christine Higham

Christine Higham has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. Christine is currently serving as a Councilwoman for the County of Summit, Ohio, a position they assumed in 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Director of Human Resources and Administration at Mustard Seed Market & Cafe starting in 2015.

From 2007 to 2015, Christine worked as the Deputy Director of Human Resources at the County of Summit, Office of Executive. During this time, they managed a team of 6 and was responsible for various aspects of HR, including classification and compensation, recruitment and hiring, payroll, and personnel records. Christine was also instrumental in implementing a voluntary separation plan that resulted in significant cost savings.

Before joining the County of Summit, Christine served as the Director of Administration at Summit County Clerk of Courts in 2006-2007. In this position, they handled public relations and human resources functions while representing the Clerk on the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.

During their tenure, they achieved accreditation for multiple programs and received awards for exemplary offender programs and accreditation agency of the year.

Christine began their career as a Committee Secretary for the Ohio House of Representatives from 1991 to 1995.

Christine Higham holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Tiffin University, which they completed in 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 2000. In 2015, Christine obtained the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM, and in 2014, they received a certification as a Certified Trainer in Substance Abuse, obtained while working under the supervision of a Certified Professional in Substance Abuse.
