Founder and Principal at Mustard Square

Lauren Kelly has had a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Lauren founded Mustard Square in 2012 and worked as the Founder and Principal, where they designed and managed environmental graphic, web, and user experience design projects. Lauren also collaborated with design and architecture firms for site surveys and location-based asset management.

In 2019, Lauren became an Assistant Professor at California State University-Sacramento. Lauren joined SenovvA, Inc. in 2016 as the Head of Application Development and worked until 2020. During this time, they managed the application development team.

Before that, Lauren worked at Big Monocle as a Code Monster, where they managed technical requirements and executed coding and database development for web-based projects. Notable projects include the World Password Day campaigns for Intel and the Most Dangerous Celebrities campaign for McAfee.

Lauren also worked at Morphos as a Development Partner, where they assisted in design, user experience, and technical requirements for web-based projects. Lauren managed and executed coding and development. Their notable projects include the Maxim Integrated website redesign and work for Huff Construction and Syndesus.

Lauren's role as a Creative Director at SweetSpot WiFi lasted from 2012 to 2014. At GNU Group, they worked as a Program Coordinator and Consultant. As a Program Coordinator, they coordinated environmental graphic projects and worked on projects for Facebook Campus and healthcare institutions like Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health hospitals. As a Consultant, they assisted in exterior site surveys of various Kaiser Permanente hospitals.

Lauren also worked as a Consultant at FayeWorks Design, Sign Effects, Inc., and Debra Nichols Design. At FayeWorks Design, they assisted in code, ADA, and wayfinding sign programming for healthcare institutions. At Sign Effects, Inc., they created production-ready artwork and surveyed sites for sign replacements. At Debra Nichols Design, they assisted in managing various projects and coordinated with designers, team members, fabricators, and clients.

Overall, Lauren Kelly has a strong background in design, project management, coding, and development, with experience in environmental graphic, web, and user experience design projects. Lauren has collaborated with various agencies, designers, and clients throughout their career.

Lauren Kelly obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Design and Applied Arts from the University of California, Davis, from the years 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Design from the same institution, from 2005 to 2008. Earlier on in their education, Lauren attended California State University-Sacramento from 2002 to 2004, where they studied Business/Managerial Economics, although they did not receive a degree from this institution.
