In addition to general liability matters, Mr. Bowles regularly handles cases involving retail liability, including the defense of restaurants, hotels and retailers for premises liability and wrongful death claims. Mr. Bowles routinely handles trucking and commercial automobile liability defense for regional, national and international logistics, transportation and delivery companies. Mr. Bowles also defends professional liability matters, including the defense of attorney legal malpractice claims. In addition, Mr. Bowles defends breach of contract, extra-contractual and bad faith claims for insurance carriers.
Mr. Bowles regularly presents to clients and industry professionals in all areas of his practice, including general litigation topics, retail liability, trucking and commercial automobile litigation and bad faith insurance matters. Mr. Bowles is a graduate of the Litigation Management Institute (LMI) program, a selective certification program that provides a comprehensive understanding of the business of litigation management. Upon completion of the LMI program, Mr. Bowles was awarded the Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) designation. Mr. Bowles is a member of the National Restaurant and Retailers Defense Association (NRRDA), the Council on Litigation Management (CLM) including the CLM Committee on Insurance Bad Faith, the Defense Research Institute, Inc. (DRI), including the DRI Committees on Trucking Law, Insurance Law and Professional Liability and the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
Before starting the practice of law, Mr. Bowles served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, achieving the rank of sergeant. He has three children and his son was honored as the American Heart Walk Child for 2005. Mr. Bowles is a member of MENSA.
