Karen Peters has a wealth of work experience spanning almost three decades. Karen began their career in 1992 as a Program Manager for Nat West Bank & Life Assurance Services, and then as a Project Manager for National Westminster Bank. In 1999, they moved to Capgemini as Program Director, where they directed multi-million-pound contracts in politically sensitive and high-risk environments. In 2008, they joined SafeWork NSW as Program Manager, leading multi-disciplined teams in the implementation of complex operational improvements and legislative changes. In 2013, they began working as Business Manager for St Peter's Catholic College, where they were responsible for strategic planning and implementation of change programs. In 2020, they took on the role of IT Product Owner for Home Trades Hub Australia, owning the product roadmap and managing the product lifecycle in an agile environment. In 2021, they began working as Project Delivery Manager for mx51 and as a Member Board of Directors for Bee Kind Always and NSW Crown Lands.

Karen Peters has an extensive education background. Karen obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Studies from Liverpool John Moores University between 1989 and 1992. Karen then went on to complete an Associate Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development from the University of Liverpool Management School between 1991 and 1992. After that, they completed an Associate London Institute of Banking & Finance from City Banking College between 1994 and 1996. Finally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bath between 1999 and 2001. Additionally, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the INFORMATION SYSTEMS EXAMINATIONS BOARD LIMITED in February 1997.
