Ilasri Bharati Summitt

​​Ila is a Sustainability Programs Manager and comes to My Green Lab with 15+ years in government, academic and biotech laboratories from the east coast to west finally culminating in San Diego, CA. As a clinical lab scientist, she knows first-hand what the lab experiences daily, including the struggle for sustainability. Ila worked with Novartis’ global Environmental Sustainability network to initiate My Green Lab certification at her worksite as well as speaking engagements of best sustainable practices.

​She partners with local organizations to collect thousands of pounds of waste in beach clean ups and hazardous/e-waste collection events, implementing polystyrene recycling, donation of unused office products to local charities and more. Ila is passionate to help the global scientific research community continue their work to save human lives while saving the planet.
