Founder, Head of Technology at My Wine Guide

Shawn Li has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Shawn is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Bolster, Inc, where they oversee the automation process for 360-degree external attack surface protection. Prior to this, they founded and served as the Head of Technology at My Wine Guide, a platform that helps users find wines they'll like at restaurants.

From 2010 to 2016, Shawn worked at Churchill Downs as the Director of Software Development/Architect, leading the research and development of customer-facing products. During their time there, they implemented an MVC-based modular web/mobile application architecture to reduce development and maintenance costs.

Before Churchill Downs, Shawn was the Director of Product Development at Youbet.com, where they managed onsite and offshore development teams and supervised architecture design. Shawn also served as the Manager of Product Development and a Senior Software Engineer at Youbet.com, handling full customer-facing product line development and working on software design and implementation.

Shawn began their career at IBM as a Software Engineer, providing Lotus Domino/Notes post-sale consulting services and technical support to users in China. Prior to IBM, they worked at Lotus Development as a Software Developer, contributing to various projects including a Java Internet application development toolkit and an OS/2 Chinese application development toolkit.

Shawn Li completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the Harbin Institute of Technology, where they attended from 1991 to 1995.
