Dirk Michel

Dirk Michel has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Dirk currently works at MYCOM OSI as the SVP of SaaS and Digital Technology, overseeing cloud and application platform development and releasing SaaS-based software products to the telecoms sector. Dirk'sprevious roles include being the VP of Sales Engineering & Assurance Solutions, where they managed global sales engineering teams and focused on creating winning customer bids and delivering competitive trial implementations. Before that, they were the Director of Sales Engineering, leading a technical sales team and creating value-added propositions based on big data analytics and business intelligence systems. Dirk also served as the Director of Systems Engineering, where they managed a team focused on customer implementation projects and supported sales engineering efforts. Earlier in their career, Dirk held roles at Nortel Networks, Bechtel Telecommunications, AOL, Star21 Networks, and Justus Liebig University Giessen, where they gained experience in network optimization, RF engineering, data network operations, and network administration.

Dirk Michel obtained their MSc in Geoinformatics from Justus Liebig University Giessen, having studied from 1994 to 2000. In addition to their degree, they have acquired various certifications. As of May 2023, they have obtained the certification in "Securing Software Supply Chains with Sigstore" from edX. In February 2023, they earned the "AWS Certified SAP on AWS - Specialty" certification, and in January 2023, they obtained the "AWS Certified Database - Specialty" certification.
