James Guchu has a diverse work experience spanning over 14 years. James started their career as a Direct Sales Officer at Family Bank Ltd in 2008. James then assumed the role of Branch Operations Officer, where they handled customer service, marketing, and cashiering responsibilities. After that, they worked as an Accountant and Money Market Dealer at Family Bank Ltd, where they were responsible for supplier payments, imprest preparation, reconciliations, fixed asset registration, and daily transactions entry.

In 2012, James joined First Community Bank, NA as a Financial Officer. Here, they prepared quarterly and year-end statutory accounts, financial accounts for management review, and group reporting. James then transitioned to SGS in 2019 as a Record to Report Accountant, where they managed bank statements, performed postings/analysis/reconciliations, collaborated in audits, and maintained the standard chart of accounts.

Currently, James is working at MyCredit Limited as an Assistant Manager Finance, a position they started in September 2022.

James Guchu has an extensive education history. In 2000, they completed their secondary school education at NJIIRI SCHOOL, where they obtained a KCSE degree. Following this, they attended KCA University from 2004 to 2008, specializing in Accounting and Finance. During their time at KCA University, they earned a CPA-K degree. From 2010 to 2012, James attended the Kenya Institute of Management, where they studied Project Management and obtained a degree in the same field. James then pursued further education at Moi University from 2012 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Business Management degree with a specialization in Banking and Finance. In July 2015, they obtained full membership with the ICPAK (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya) as a CPA-K, with membership number 17152.
