Mikael Wahlsten has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Mikael currently serves as a Board Member at Freemelt AB since 2023. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at Mycronic, where they held various roles and responsibilities. From 2020 to the present, they have been the Head of PG Product Strategy and Development, leading a team of managers and overseeing the product strategy and development within the business division PG. From 2014 to 2020, they were the Director, Product Area Manager PG, where their responsibilities included long-term development strategy, product profitability, and acting as a link between R&D, System Sales, and company management. Mikael also served as the Director of PG System Sales from 2013 to 2014 and as a Business Analyst in Strategic Marketing from 2011 to 2013. Mikael has a strong technical background and began their career as an R&D Engineer at Mycronic in 2006, working on system design and specializing in registration and meteorology systems. Mikael also worked as a System Engineer, developing verification tools and performing optical simulations. Overall, Mikael has vast experience in various aspects of product development, strategy, sales, and marketing in the technology industry.

Mikael Wahlsten has a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, which they obtained from 1998 to 2004. In 2002 to 2004, they also studied Financial Economics at the University of Gothenburg. In 2019, Mikael attended the Novare Leadership Academy's Emerge Leadership Program for Young Professionals. Additionally, in 2022, they completed another program at the Novare Leadership Academy focused on Successful Board of Director work.
