Shannon Argueta

Associate Director, Translational Research at Myeloid Therapeutics

Shannon Argueta has worked in the biotechnology sector since 2009. Shannon began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut, where they identified potential anti-migratory activity of small molecules and natural compounds. In 2011, Argueta moved to Boston College, where they served as a Graduate Research Assistant and Flow Cytometry Core Operater. During this time, they utilized multicolor flow cytometry, western blotting, qPCR, and immunoassays to characterize the role of nutrient availability and the regulation of cellular metabolism and growth signaling pathways in lymphocyte activation responses. In 2016, Argueta joined Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. as a Biology Consultant, and Momenta Pharmaceuticals as a Scientist and Associate Scientist. Shannon then moved to Evelo Biosciences in 2019, where they held the role of Senior Scientist and Scientist. Argueta is currently employed at Myeloid Therapeutics as Associate Director of Translational Research.

Shannon Argueta obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut between 2007 and 2011. Shannon then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Immunology at Boston College, which they completed in 2016.
