Alan Hamlet

Founder & CEO at MYOLYN

Alan Hamlet began their career in 2010 as a Research Intern at Mainstream Engineering Corporation. In 2011, they joined Space Exploration Technologies as a Mechanical Engineer and was awarded a UF Graduate School Fellowship to become a Research Assistant at the Center for Intelligent Machines and Robotics (CIMAR). In 2013, they founded and became CEO of MYOLYN, a medical technology company specializing in functional electrical stimulation (FES) devices. During their time at MYOLYN, they obtained regulatory clearance for two Class II therapy systems in the US, Canada, and Australia, for both home and clinic use, went from pre-revenue to 5 consecutive years of double-digit revenue growth, and obtained ISO13485 certification as a medical device manufacturer.

Alan Hamlet obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2010. Alan then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, which they completed in 2013. Following that, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Dynamics, Systems, and Control from the University of Florida in 2015. In 2018, they obtained a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera. Alan is also pursuing a Machine Learning certification.
