George Danezis

Co-Founder & Chief Scientist at Mysten Labs

George Danezis is a Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Mysten Labs. Prior to this, they were a Research Scientist at Facebook on the Novi team designing and building the Diem (previously Libra) payment network. George has also co-founded Chainspace, where they were Head of Research, and Vega Protocol, where they advised and researched on all matters related to cyber security and distributed systems. George has also been a Visiting Fellow at K.U. Leuven and a Research Assistant/Associate at Cambridge University.

George Danezis is originally from Brussels, Belgium and attended the European School of Brussels. George then went on to study Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. After completing their BA, they stayed at Cambridge to complete their PhD in Computer Security and Cryptography.

Their manager is Evan Cheng, Co-Founder & CEO. Some of their coworkers include Kostas Chalkias - Co-Founder & Chief Cryptographer, Sam Blackshear - Co-Founder & CTO, and Adeniyi Abiodun - Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer.
