Elena Galbally is a Senior Robotics Research Engineer at Mytra since January 2023, where the focus is on developing a robotics and AI-driven solution for resilient, modular, and reconfigurable material flow and storage. Previously, Elena served as a PhD Researcher at Stanford University from September 2017 to August 2022, contributing to a thesis on understanding and learning robotic manipulation skills from humans, while also developing human-robot collaboration solutions and working on an underwater humanoid. In addition, Elena was a Teaching Assistant at Stanford, where responsibilities included designing and grading exams for robotics courses. Earlier experience includes roles as a Research Associate and Research Intern at the Institute for Human and Machine Collaboration (IHMC), where work involved modeling controls for a large humanoid robot and developing bipedal locomotion simulations for assistive exoskeletons. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Robotics, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from Stanford University.
