Shawn VanDerziel

Shawn VanDerziel's work experience includes serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer at the National Association of Colleges and Employers since March 2020. Prior to that, they held various roles at The Field Museum, including Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. Shawn also worked as the Manager of Recruitment at Norrell and as the Associate Director of Student Enrollment at National-Louis University.

Shawn VanDerziel attended Michigan State University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multi-Disciplinary Social Sciences. In addition to their degree, Shawn also holds several certifications in the field of Human Resources. Shawn obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in June 2005. Furthermore, they achieved the SHRM-SCP certification and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in December 2015.
