Phillip Feiner is a twenty plus year attorney with extensive experience in handling client legal matters including legal advice, legal research and writing, dispute resolution and specific matters related to domestic and international oil and gas as well as corporate securities. After graduating from law school in 1998, their first position was with a family owned manufacturing / retail furniture business as Corporate Counsel / Director of Operations until the company was sold three years later. Phillip then reported as Associate Counsel to the President of a start-up ballistic armor (bullet proof materials) manufacturer that closed its operation one year later for lack of adequate capital.
In 2002, Phillip Feiner was recruited by the President of BDS International, LLC, a small upstream oil exploration and production company operating in Colorado that also had a gather system for other companies on adjacent leases, as General Counsel. Phillip coordinated outside counsel in multiple states and monitored all field operations to ensure legal compliance and supervised environmental assessments for development of federal leases.
In 2005, Phillip Feiner established the Law Offices of Phillip Feiner and was also retained by Vanguard Title Company as a title fee attorney for their Plano, Texas office. Phillip developed a general law practice serving numerous clients and formed and organized various business entities, updated their records, and advised them on entity maintenance.
In 2007, Phillip Feiner was recruited by the CEO of Cano Petroleum, Inc., a $500+ million NYSE upstream producer of onshore domestic oil in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, as Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. Phillip supervised two Attorneys, a DOI Land Tech and an Executive Assistant in managing all legal matters for the company. Phillip negotiated and closed $300+ million company asset divestitures and acquisitions.
In 2011, Phillip Feiner was recruited by Kosmos Energy to report to the General Counsel of this NYSE international oil and gas exploration company as Assistant General Counsel. Phillip led the corporate compliance team (public company compliance and anti-corruption), led the IPO on the London Stock Exchange, supported all material corporate transactions (mergers and other strategic transactions), led legal efforts to IPO the company in 2011 and create policies and procedures for public company compliance, supported all SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K, Form 4s, 8-Ks and drafted proxy statements, and administered all secondary offerings on the NYSE and supported corporate financings including RBLs, RCFs and bonds. In 2014, they were promoted to Vice President and Assistant General Counsel over a compliance legal staff of three and a human resources department of eight. In 2017, they advanced to be the company's only Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and led the acquisition of producing assets in Equatorial Guinea on behalf of the Kosmos and Trident joint venture and operated as General Counsel for the Equatorial Guinea assets.
In 2020, Phillip Feiner joined Solomon Associates as General Counsel. In 2021, they joined Nacero Inc. in the same role.
Phillip Feiner obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Philosophy and Religion with a minor in Theirtory from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 1995.
