NAfME
Mike Blakeslee has had extensive experience in the field of music education. Mike started their career as a Profesor de musica at Universidad de Los Andes, where they taught various music subjects and directed ensembles. Mike then joined the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), initially serving as Deputy Executive Director/COO and later as Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, they were responsible for budgeting and program coordination, and actively contributed to the development of professional standards for music education. Since 2016, Mike has held the position of CEO and Executive Director at NAfME, where they continue to contribute to the advancement of music education.
Mike Blakeslee attended the University of Virginia from 1972 to 1980. During this time, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Music and Psychology. Mike later pursued their Master's degree in Music Composition, although the specific field of study is undisclosed.
