Lauren Newton

Director, Professional Development Programs at NAFSA: Association of International Educators

Lauren Newton has a strong background in international education and professional development, currently serving as the Director of Professional Development Programs at NAFSA: Association of International Educators since August 2015. Prior to this role, Lauren held various positions within NAFSA, including Associate Director of Professional Learning Services and Program Manager. Earlier experience includes serving as a Study Abroad Advisor and Administrative Assistant at the University of South Carolina from August 2012 to July 2015, following a tenure as a Peer Advisor in the same institution's Study Abroad Office. Lauren holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs as well as a BS in Political Science, both from the University of South Carolina, and has studied at the Universidad de Granada.
