Jim Carr has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles, currently serving as President and CEO of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics since August 1998. Prior to this position, Jim held the roles of Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at the same organization. From July 1994 to July 1998, Jim was an attorney at Maynard Cooper and Gale, LLC, a full-service law firm. Earlier in Jim's career, Jim worked as the Director of Licensing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas from August 1989 to June 1991. Jim holds a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law, earned a Master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Millsaps College.

Experts in the business of small college athletics - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., is a governing body of small athletics programs that are dedicated to character-driven intercollegiate athletics. Since 1937, the NAIA has administered programs dedicated to championships in balance with the overall college educational experience. Each year more than 77,000 NAIA student-athletes have the opportunity to play college sports, earn over $800 million in scholarships, and compete for a chance to participate in 27 national championships.
