Ruud Barnhoorn

Ruud Barnhoorn has extensive experience in seed health and biotechnology, currently serving as the Chair of the ISTA Seed Health Committee since June 2019, where leadership includes overseeing validation projects and fostering connections with international organizations. Additionally, Ruud is the Chair of the Method Validation Group at the International Seed Federation, focusing on scientific method validation for plant pathogen detection. With a background that includes research roles at Monsanto Company and Naktuinbouw, Ruud has contributed significantly to seed health, proficiency testing, and disease resistance. Education was completed at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences with a BSc in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology.
